To address the self-starting limitations of traditional Darrieus-type vertical axis wind turbines and the lower efficiency typically associated with Savonius designs, they developed an integrated VAWT solution that combines the strengths of both technologies. Their advanced architecture balances lift- and drag-based aerodynamics to enable reliable self-start in low wind conditions while delivering high efficiency at higher wind speeds. The system is powered by a direct-drive, coreless permanent-magnet generator engineered for ultra-low startup torque, eliminating the need for clutches or external motoring and reducing mechanical complexity. Purpose-built power controllers with integrated maximum power point tracking (MPPT) further optimize energy production, while enhanced safety controls ensure stable, dependable operation across a wide range of conditions.
