The aim of RUAF is to facilitate integration of Urban Agriculture in the policies and plans of city authorities and to facilitate the formulation of projects on urban agriculture with active involvement of all local stakeholders.
Originally launched as an effort to ease urban hunger, the program restructured in 1994, expanding its scope to address broader needs such as neighborhood revitalization, environmental education for the young and old, supplemental income for low income residents, and better food for everyone.
Extensive information resources for urban agriculture with many showcases from around the world. Stories about city rain barrels, composting, pet waste, grasscycling. Resources for Canadian supplies.
